In response to a number of requests, we are posting the "Response" made by the Village to Buckeye's request for a TRO. As noted by the Village (page 1) "This is not about the Village of Tinley Park keeping out affordable housing." Further, (page 2), "Rather than make a proposal that complied with the Legacy Code, Buckeye sought to influence the Village's Planning Director to cause a change in that code to be made without any meaningful discussion by the Village's Board of Trustees." The Village then goes on to detail the facts (pages 3-7) of the collusion between Amy Connolly and Mr. Petroni of Buckeye begining in March of 2015 aimed at "circumvent[ing] debate on the changing of a key component of the Legacy Code." (page 6). All of this is pending in the civil litigation filed by Buckeye and seemingly ignored in the Complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney. This will all have to play out in the courts. We will have comment later on the responsibilities of 2 mayors in letting this happen and permitting the situation to get to this point.
